Waiting...

By now everyone has gone to their Nutcracker auditions and we're all waiting to hear the exciting, or disappointing news. The anticipation is thriving in all of us and we wrestle it with every passing second. You want to know more than anything else exactly what role you'll be learning and performing.
Well, I can tell you with complete honesty that I understand. As we speak I feel butterflies in my stomach, waiting for something that seems a lifetime away. Dealing with that apprehension and anticipation is much more difficult than it seems, believe me, I know. First off, let me just tell you that you are completely normal! Everyone (or at least everyone I know) feels this way too. The second thing I can tell you, is that waiting is the only solution. I feel like I'm suppose to be writing an article about how to deal with the anticipation of casting... But there's really not a whole lot of advice I can give!

^ Make like this moose and walk it off! ^

Waiting sucks. There's no doubt about it. So I'm sorry to not have some great advice to offer you about reeling in that anxiousness, but instead we can exchange our mutual feelings of excitedness/anticipation.

Thanks for reading!

  1. I have the greatest story to share about waiting. Well, I auditioned for Snow White, and I was waiting for what part I got. It was right before lunch at school when my mom pulled out her phone and announced my parts to the class; the email had been sent out right in the middle of school! I was so happy to have two parts! Ontop of that, I have a double-identity ;) A queen's defenseur and a woodland fairy!

  5. heyy i thought i would share my nutcracker story as well. So the company was supposed to get our parts like 2 weeks ago, but unforttunatly the girl who is playing the sugar plum fairy has a stress fracture in her foot so the needed to cast someone to fill in that role and someone to fill in that role and so on. So like a week ago all of the dancers are in class as usual and when class is over we see that the nutcracker roles are posted on the bullientein board. What a shock!!! i am casted as Spanish Soloist and a Snowflake!!!! SO EXCITED!!!- Lila <3
